A fit test is specific to the wearer and the make, model, type and size of tight-fitting facepiece being tested. The facepiece should also be suitable for the hazard and workâfit testing does not replace correct RPE selection.
Wearers will be given preparation information before the appointment. A reliable seal cannot be achieved where hair lies between the sealing surface and the skin, so this should be considered when planning the test and ongoing use.
